This Cookie Policy explains how muddl uses cookies and similar technologies on muddl.co. For this policy, muddl, we, us and our refer to this project. For cookie questions, contact us using the email address in our Privacy Policy. This policy currently applies to the pre-launch website at muddl.co. When the full muddl app launches, we will update this policy to include app-specific cookies and local storage.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help websites work, remember choices and understand how people use the site. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, scripts and tags that store or access information on your device.

3. Types of cookies we use

We use the following types of cookies and similar technologies.

Strictly necessary cookies

These are needed for the website to work properly. They may be used to remember your cookie choices, support security, or provide basic site functionality. You cannot switch these off through our cookie banner, but you can block them in your browser. Some parts of the site may not work properly if you do.

Analytics cookies

These help us understand how visitors use muddl.co so we can improve the website. Analytics cookies and tracking technologies are only used if you accept them through the cookie banner. At the moment, our main analytics tool is Mouseflow.

Cookie names may change over time if we update our tools or implementation. We will update this policy where the change is material.

5. Mouseflow

We use Mouseflow to understand how visitors interact with muddl.co. This may include session replay, heatmaps, clicks, scrolling and page navigation. We use Mouseflow to:

  • spot where visitors get stuck;
  • improve the design and usability of the site;
  • understand whether site pages are working clearly; and
  • identify bugs or confusing parts of the experience.

Mouseflow is only loaded after you accept non-essential cookies. We do not use Mouseflow for advertising or retargeting. We aim to configure Mouseflow in a privacy-conscious way, including masking typed inputs where available and avoiding the deliberate collection of sensitive information, and the waitlist signup form is excluded from recording. You can also opt out of Mouseflow recording through Mouseflow’s own opt-out page at mouseflow.com/opt-out.

6. What we do not use

At the time of writing, muddl.co does not use:

  • advertising cookies;
  • retargeting pixels;
  • Meta Pixel;
  • Google Ads tracking;
  • social media tracking embeds;
  • live chat tracking; or
  • third-party analytics beyond Mouseflow.

If this changes, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for consent.

When you first visit muddl.co, you can choose whether to accept or reject non-essential cookies. You can change your choice by using the cookie settings link on the website, where available, or by clearing cookies in your browser. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Browser controls are usually available in your privacy or security settings.

8. App cookies and local storage

The full muddl app may use cookies or local storage for essential functions such as authentication, saved sessions, security, preferences and interface state. For example, the app may use browser storage or cookies to remember UI preferences such as whether a sidebar is open or closed. Before or when the app launches publicly, we will update this Cookie Policy to explain app-specific cookies and local storage in more detail.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above. If we add new non-essential cookies or tracking technologies, we will update the policy and request consent where required.
