Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 20 May 2026
1. About these terms
These Terms and Conditions apply to your use of the pre-launch muddl website at muddl.co. By using muddl.co or joining the waitlist, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the website. In these terms, muddl, we, us and our refer to this project. You can contact us at hello@muddl.co.
2. About muddl
muddl is a UK-focused family organisation product designed to help parents, carers and guardians manage family routines, school holidays, activities and shared calendar information. At this stage, muddl.co is a pre-launch website and waitlist. The full muddl app is not covered in detail by these pre-launch terms. Additional or updated terms may apply when the app launches.
3. The waitlist
You can join the muddl waitlist by submitting your email address and agreeing to receive launch and product updates. Joining the waitlist does not guarantee:
- access to muddl;
- early access;
- a specific launch date;
- availability of any particular feature;
- free access to paid features; or
- any specific pricing.
We may choose how and when to invite people from the waitlist.
4. Early access and beta features
muddl may be made available as an early access, beta or test product. If you use an early access or beta version, you understand that:
- features may be incomplete;
- bugs or errors may occur;
- parts of the product may change or be removed;
- availability may be interrupted; and
- data, settings or test content may be reset where needed.
We will try to provide a useful and reliable service, but early access software should not be treated as guaranteed or error-free.
5. User accounts and app use
When the muddl app launches, you may need to create an account to use it. You will be responsible for:
- providing accurate account information;
- keeping your login details secure;
- activity that happens under your account;
- making sure anyone you invite to a muddl family space is someone you are allowed to invite; and
- making sure information you add to muddl is lawful, accurate and appropriate.
Further app-specific terms may apply when accounts are available.
6. Family and calendar information
muddl is intended to help families organise information, but you remain responsible for checking important dates, events, school information, childcare arrangements, routines and reminders. You agree that:
- you are responsible for the accuracy of information you add;
- you should not add information you do not have permission to share;
- you should be careful when adding children’s personal information;
- you should not add medical, highly sensitive or unnecessary personal information unless you are comfortable doing so and have a lawful reason; and
- muddl should not be relied on as the only record of important commitments.
muddl is not responsible for missed events, missed reminders, incorrect school dates, calendar errors, lost arrangements or other consequences of relying only on the service.
7. School dates, holidays and third-party information
muddl may use public or third-party data sources, including local authority information and GOV.UK information, to help show school term dates, holidays or other calendar information. We aim to present this information clearly, but we cannot guarantee that all public or third-party information will always be accurate, complete or up to date. You should always check important school, nursery, childcare, work, travel or family dates with the original source before relying on them.
8. Payments and muddl+
muddl may offer a paid subscription called muddl+. Where paid subscriptions are available:
- pricing and features will be shown before purchase;
- payments will be handled by Stripe or another payment provider;
- we will not store your full payment card details;
- receipts and payment records may be provided by Stripe; and
- additional payment, renewal, cancellation or refund terms may be shown at checkout or in the app.
We may change features, pricing, trial offers or subscription plans over time. Any changes will apply in line with the terms shown at the time and applicable law.
9. Acceptable use
You must not use muddl.co or the muddl app to:
- break the law;
- infringe someone else’s rights;
- upload, send or store harmful, abusive, unlawful or malicious content;
- attempt to access accounts, data or systems you are not authorised to access;
- interfere with the security or operation of the website or app;
- scrape, copy or misuse the service at scale without permission;
- reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code except where allowed by law;
- use automated systems to create accounts, abuse the waitlist or overload the service; or
- use muddl in a way that could harm other users, children, families or muddl.
We may suspend, restrict or remove access where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached or where needed to protect muddl, users or the service.
10. Intellectual property
muddl, the muddl name, branding, design, text, software, graphics and other materials belong to muddl or our licensors. You may use the website and app only for their intended purpose. You must not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute or commercially exploit any part of muddl without permission, except where allowed by law. You keep ownership of information you add to muddl, but you give us permission to use it as needed to provide, secure and improve the service.
11. Third-party services
muddl may rely on third-party services such as hosting providers, analytics tools, authentication providers, payment processors, email providers, weather providers and public data sources. We are not responsible for third-party services, websites or content that we do not control. Their own terms and privacy policies may apply.
12. Availability and changes
We may change, suspend or stop all or part of muddl.co or the muddl app at any time. We do not guarantee that the website or app will always be available, uninterrupted, secure or error-free.
13. Disclaimers
muddl is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We aim to provide a useful family organisation tool, but we do not guarantee that muddl will meet your needs, be error-free, be available at all times, or that any information shown in muddl will always be accurate, complete or up to date. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
14. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under law.
muddl is intended as a helpful organisation tool. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for:
- missed events, missed reminders or missed arrangements;
- incorrect, incomplete or out-of-date school dates, holidays, calendar entries or third-party information;
- information added incorrectly by users;
- loss caused by relying on muddl as the only record of important commitments;
- loss caused by events outside our reasonable control; or
- indirect losses, business losses, loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of opportunity or similar losses.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have non-exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer rights that apply in your location.
